is it possible to interrogate the differential page map prior to making
a backup? I'm interested in logic that will determine if the diff is
approaching the size of the entire database (in order to just do a full
and cut down on subsequent diff's..)
Thanks in advance. You can try with the undocumented DBCC PAGE command - see
http://www.winnetmag.com/Article/ArticleID/8097/8097.html.
