Pre-execute error in simple import/export

I am trying to copy data from a SQL Server 2000 DB to SQL Server 2005 DB using the import/export wizard in SQL Server Management Studio. The two databases are not identical with different table names and different columns but I thought I had set up all the right mappings and had set the 'Enable identity insert' option. When I ran the wizard it errored at the Pre-execute phase. I simplified the wizard down to one table and only as couple of varchar columns and this also errored in the same way. The error report is detailed below.

For reference the SQL2000(ent. edn) DB is on a windows 2000 server and the SQL2005(dev. edn) DB and the management studio are both on my WinXPSP2 workstation.

Could somebody explain why these errors have occured and more importantly how to rectify the problem?

Many thanks,
Michael.

Michael,

this is most likely a truncation problem. Could you check the sizes of used source and destination columns?

Thanks.

Possible to Limit the Export Formats

Is it possible to limit the export formats from the Report Viewer control? Specifically the options that appear in the dropdown box. I'm using it in an ASP.NET environment (RTM) and remote mode of the ReportViewer control.
In remote mode, we can edit the rsreportserver.config file on the Report Server to limit the available export formats but that will enforce for all the reporting applications running on that machine.
Can we restrict it for one of the reporting application deployed on the reporting Services and not for all?

Unfortunately the list is not customizable. You can, however, hide the dropdown entirely and add your own to the form that includes only the formats you want. You can programmatically access to all available rendering extensions through ReportViewer.LocalReport.Render().

Possible to Export EM SQL Registrations?

I have a development laptop that I frequently need to reimage (ghost). I have about 25 SQL Servers registered in Enterprise Manager. Some use Windows Auth, some SQL Auth. Can I export the registration information so I don’t have to re-enter it every
time I rebuild my laptop?
I have been able to export/import the server aliases using this key (this works fine): [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer \Client\ConnectTo]
I have also exported/imported: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\SQLEW\Registered Servers X]
But All I get are the groups, no servers.
TIA

Possible bug with excel export

We're having a problem with the excel export in one of our reports. The data region in the report is filtered by the value of a parameter chosen by the user. Everything displays and works fine until it is exported to excel. When a user does this it outputs the results for the same parameter no matter what parameter is actually selected. It's specifically related to the excel export because every other one works as expected. Can anyone reproduce this problem? Are you running the latest service pack?
Can you try copying the report to another report & then exporting?|||This is actually in 2005. Copying the report to another one doesn't help and unfortunately we don't have our new test server in yet to try it on another machine.
