Possible Network Error: Write to SQL Server Failed

Any idea on what can cause this error message? "Possible
Network Error: Write to SQL Server Failed"
Is it due to a network disconnect? We are running the
application thru Metaframe XP to SQL Server 2000 with SP 3.
